It's a community effort.
It is a blessing to be the LIGHTHOUSE to the community. Our outreach programs reach so many people because it is truly a community effort. You will see churches and community members working diligently at the Food Pantry. If you would like to be a part of these programs, please contact pantry director, Jennifer Mathes. We have need of a variety of skills and tasks for all ages.
A time for growth
Our food pantry serves the lower half of Labette County in Kansas. We serve approximately 200 families every MONTH. As you can imagine the amount of storage needed to house the food until distribution time comes. Our fellowship hall and classrooms are filled with pallets of food! Added with church growth, we are quickly running out of space.
With much prayer and a bit of faith, Crosstimbers Community Church has purchased TWO city blocks in the town of Edna, KS just three blocks from our current location. Plans have been drawn for an Outreach Center! We are believing that the funds needed for the project will be fulfilled to break ground in the Fall of 2024. The new Outreach Center will contain a warehouse to store all of the food including walk in freezers, a waiting and pick up area for people to pick up their food, a meeting hall f and a kitchen! The Center will be designed to create an atmosphere of fellowship.
